Aventurier ~Shinyaku Arsène Lupin~ chapter 1

What's this? A new series? Don't I have enough work with Souten Kouro?

Actually, this is one manga I've been looking for. I tried finding raws in January, but couldn't find more than scans for one of the magazine's issues. Now, however, I've just found out that someone uploaded the first two volumes (the fourth is being released in two weeks or so). As such, I decided to pick it up.

So, let's quote the description on Mangaupdates:

The continuing adventures of classic Arsène Lupin character created by Maurice Leblanc.
The manga adapts Maurice Leblanc's novels about a gentleman thief who solves cases while outwitting both the police and criminals. The first chapter of the manga retells the first short story Leblanc published, "The Arrest of Arsène Lupin" (1905).
Lupin is a Gentleman Thief and a master on disguise, during the Belle Époque years

So yeah, this actually takes lines from the novels. As such, I decided to use the translation that's in the public domain, especially since it sounds like it's from that time. I did check the French version and, occasionally, the English translation changes some things - these changes are not to be found in Morita's manga. Naturally, there are quite a few lines that weren't in the novel, but I hope the difference won't be too noticeable. Also, even though he uses -san, I will consistently use "monsieur" and "mademoiselle", unless the French version uses words like "Miss" or "Lady".

Souten Kouro volume 1

I eventually realized that I must be stupid to think that I can improve all scanlations for a volume release when I'm not even sure whether I can finish this before I have grandchildren.

As such, here's a link to volume 1, containing all its chapters, as well as the volume cover and the description (which I translated). I won't be translating the author descriptions, unless there is a great request for it. I won't delete the old links before I have confirmation that the volume release doesn't have outdated or missing pages.

And this concludes all completely translated scripts I had around New Year's Eve. Since I have exams, it is highly unlikely that I should finish chapter 45. If I do, all the better.

Seems Zhang Jue doesn't just happen to look like Jesu Toki from Hokuto no Ken Jesus, after all.

That went quicker than expected. I'd like to make a correction, though: chapter 45 hasn't completely been translated, so that will take a while. Until then, I'll try to release chapter 44 before I leave (which is next week).

Souten Kouro chapter 42

So, after nearly 8 months of inactivity (due to both editors being lazy/busy), I decided to go back to the basics and just finish the chapter myself. As such, editing might not be as smooth as it used to be, but whoever followed this from the beginning might not mind.

At any rate, here's chapter 42.

I'll be leaving in a few days, so all I'll have for the next two months is a laptop without Photoshop, so my editing will be even crummier than it already is. Fortunately, all scripts up to chapter 45 have been done since last year.
